December 20, 2009

Washington DC day 3---Kind of a quiet day. The above ground metro rail and many tourist attractions were closed due to the storm. I am learning a lot about DC...we witnessed the 7th worst snow storm on record and this storm left the most amount of snow ever received in December. The normal snow fall in December is 1-2 inches. This storm left 16-24 inches of snow. A local told us that an inch of snow usually closes schools and that people in DC don't know how to drive in snow. Wow, that is what they normally say about Californians!

Today, we were only able to go to Union Station (they have shops and food there) and we also were able to see play at the Kennedy Center.
